dimland radio 2-17-24 show notes

As of this writing, my wife and I will closing on the sale of our house. We have already done our bit of signing of the paperwork. Tomorrow (Tuesday 2/20) the soon-to-be owners will do there bit of signing.

We’re pretty damned excited. We’re at 9.9 out of 10 on the excitement scale. Tomorrow, if all goes as planned we’ll be at 11!

Another trophy for Patrick Mahomes.

I know Taylor didn’t win the big game, but she’s so hot right now. She was there to see her boyfriend Travis Kelce who did win the Super Bowl.

It was also the most watched (in America) Super Bowl ever. And it was almost most watched (in America) television event ever, with only the 1969 Moon Landing having been watched by more Americans.

The game started slow, but got better and better as it played out.

Swift with her parents who helped her.

“So” was my and others’ response when someone on Facebook seemed to be suggesting that because Taylor Swift had wealthy parents who helped her in life her musical career achievements are somehow tainted. That her fame and fortune aren’t deserved. She didn’t really earn her popularity.

One Taylor Swift fan just didn’t understand why so many of the commenters responded with a so what reaction. The fan just didn’t understand we were on their side and not the side of the person diminishing her success.

A fellow I’ve known since grade school posted to Facebook an agree or disagree statement that called for teachers to be able tell the kids in their classes about Jesus Christ.

I agreed.

But only if…

You’ll have to listen.

“Are we ready to sync up?”

It’s a myth that women who are with other women at work or living together long enough they have their menstrual cycles sync up. Women’s cycles aren’t always clockwork, some women have very regular cycles, some women have varying cycles, some cycles are shorter than the 28 day average, some are longer. Occasionally, the cycles converge.

When that happens, people will notice it and think they all synced up, but then they will not notice when the cycles begin to diverge.

“Hey, after the fight, wanna play hockey?”

Fighting in hockey, as a part of the game, is weird.

That’s right. I said it.
