MLB’s 24th Perfect Game

*Yes, it was the Hated Yankees. It’s still cool.*

It’s only happened 24 times in MLB history. Although, it should be 25. In 2010, an ump blew the call on what would have been the 27th out, so Detroit Tigers pitcher Armando Galarraga missed out on history.

This past week, Hated Yankee Domingo German threw the historic 24th perfect game. Quite an achievement. However, in addition to his being a Hated Yankee, plenty on social media believe he isn’t worthy of praise due to past domestic violence incidences.

I think we can still celebrate the achievement, if not the achiever.

This brings up…

The Artist Versus The Art

I talked about artists with questionable, sometimes criminal, behavior. Should we abandon the art, when the artist turns about to be an asshole?

I’ll leave that up to the individual to decide.

*Pete’s not an asshole. Well, he might be, but he was cleared of all charges related to child pornography.*

OceanGate Demonstrates The Need For Regulation

I understand the desire to laugh at hubris-tic rich people dying doing something stupidly risky, but people did die.

Politics Girl does a good job explaining how this tragedy shows the importance of regulations, of government oversight and safety standard setting.

Context! Remember To Include Proper Context

*Those Moms won;t be intimidated by hate groups. They’re the hate group and they’ll do the intimidating, thank you very much.*

Moms For Liberty (for rich, white, straight, Christian cis males) forgot the importance of context when they included a quote by Adolf Hitler. There was no explaining why his quote was posted just under the headline banner of their newsletter. They later claimed it was a warning to parents to not let the guv-ment turn our kids woke, apologized for any offense given, and took down the dog whistle.

Well, maybe it wasn’t a dog whistle. I mean, it is pretty blatant.
