Night Walks With Edna
Each night, I take our new dog, Edna, for her evening walks. (Usually two of them.) And I’ve noticed a couple of interesting things.
One is that, at this time of the year, the grass in the nearby walking park is literally crawling (or hopping) with frogs and toads. Edna had been going after something, but, it being dark, it took me a while to figure out what it was. But I did figure it out.
Now Edna needs figure out that when she gets on of those night critters in her mouth, which she sometimes does, they don’t taste so good.

The other interesting thing I have noticed is that a neighbor likes to watch Bob Ross nearly every night. You know Bob Ross, don’t ya? He’s the US Air Force veteran who found a television career teaching people how to paint. Sort of. I mean, he’s not exactly one of the old masters. He ain’t no da Vinci.
But, he seemed like a nice, calm, and friendly sort of fellow. His painting show was very relaxing, so maybe my neighbor watches him to settle down for bed.
Cool Thing: The Ghost Of Roy Orbison?
You gotta keep your eyes open. You never know when you’ll see something cool.
Case in point, the other day we were driving home from work. It was an overcast and rainy day, which was perfect for making the illusion (?) we saw.
In the windshield of the pickup truck behind us was an excellent reflection. There was a ladder strapped to the top of the truck that created an interesting image in the windshield: It was the “ghost” of Roy Orbison!

Pretty cool!
Heaven, Grandma, Masturbation, & Neelix From Star Trek: Voyager

I had some thoughts about heaven. The thoughts were inspired by a meme on Facebook and an episode of Star Trek: Voyager. Both had to do with the afterlife. The meme reminds people who believe that grandma (and Jesus) watches over them at all times, even when they masturbate. Mmmmhhhmmmm
I did get serious for a bit, when I considered if heaven might exist and are dead loved one (and Jesus) watch over us. Heaven is supposed to be complete joy and contentment for all eternity. Yeah, you have to worship God the whole time, but you don’t care. You are in complete bliss. It’s heaven, after all.
But, if it’s true that you watch over your surviving relatives, how blissed out are you going to be when you witness them going through a tragic event?
Heaven don’t sound so hot now, does it?

And then I talked about the Star Trek: Voyager episode titled ‘Mortal Coil’. The main story is about Neelix being dead for more than 18 hours and, apparently, he didn’t experience the afterlife during those 18 hours. Neelix had a crisis of faith after that.
I speculated on what I might say to him.
