The Kia
We got word that our Kia Soul needs a new engine. Fortunately, the problem that led to the replacement is covered under an extended warranty. Phew!
This also means we get to use a rental until our Soul is brought back from the brink. And, oh, what a car we got! It’s almost too much car.
I Went To Church
And the walls didn’t come crumbling down. I mean, there was a heathen in their midst. It’s almost as though it’s all made up.
What in the world happened? What was I, an atheist, doing in church.
Well, this was Saturday evening and I was still driving my dad’s car, while we waited to learn about our Kia and before we got the muscle car. And, since I had my dad’s car, it behooved me to make certain he got to church. He prefers to go to Saturday evening Mass.
Church is important to Dad. He never talks much about his religious beliefs, that’s too personal a thing for him. My sister did just recently learn that Dad had a sad childhood (some of it, anyway) and church became a refuge for him. It gives him peace. So, I attended Mass with him.
I refrained from scoffing during the proceedings. I even stood when the congregation stood. But I didn’t kneel. I draw the line at kneeling.
I had a few observations on my first since I don’t know when attendance of a regular, ordinary Mass.
It’s Not True: Coca-Cola’s Special Formula For McDonald’s
A coworker of mine has been making a few claims. I’m not so sure about some of them.
One claim was that Coca-Cola makes a special formula for McDonald’s restaurants. People have long thought Coke just tastes better at the Golden Arches, so it is understandable that the claim seems to be true.
I looked into it.
From what I found, there isn’t a special formula for Mickey D’s. The restaurant just does something a little differently then most of the other food joints. The photo is a hint.

Oh, well. At least the Vikings won’t lose the Super Bowl.
