Cold!!!
It’s going be damn cold for the next few days with temperature staying below zero starting Saturday night until Wednesday or Thursday. The HIGH temperature for Monday is forecast to be -16! That’s Fahrenheit, folks, not that silly Celsius thing the rest of the world uses.
Our governor, Mark Dayton, declared that all public schools in the state will be closed Monday. Gotta protect the kids. What about those of us who have to work?
Duck Die Nasty
(When I recorded this show I was unaware that Duck Daddy, Phil Robertson, had been reinstated on A&E’s “reality” show, Duck Dynasty.) I talked about how I wasn’t bothered by Mr. Robertson exercising his 1st Amendment right of free speech and that I also wasn’t bothered by his dismissal BY A&E because of his remarks.
I pointed out that Phil was merely paraphrasing the Bible and isn’t the Bible the word of God? Isn’t America a Christian nation? Can the word of God be wrong?
I found this piece in which a Christian Apologist reminds us that God’s word needs to be taken in context and that the original language in which God’s word was written can be interpreted differently.
Boy, for an omnipotent being this God guy sure has trouble getting his point across.
Here’s an example. And here. And here. And here. And here.

This 15 part series by film critic Mark Cousins is an intriguing look at the history of cinema. Cousins doesn’t just focus on the films of Hollywood and the Western world, but he also looks deeply into the films made all around the world. Maybe a little pretentious, but always fascinating. The entire series is streaming on Netflix and is well worth the viewing by anyone interested in the story of film.
