Beware The Ides Of The Week

Can Wednesday be considered the ides of the week? We’re supposed to beware the Ides of March, right? The middle of month is a big deal, at least in March, why not the middle of week?
Case in point, the past two Wednesdays.
Two weeks ago, on Wednesday, the Kia Soul went and got itself a flat tire. The car didn’t come with a spare, but it did have a kit (see the pictures above). I put the kit to use and got some air in there. It held air long enough for me to get to the tire store and get it repaired. For free!
Last week, on Wednesday, the Kia Soul went and got itself needing new brakes. Well, that is something that takes some time to happen, but it became clear the time had come…
And Another Thing About The Towering Inferno
What more could I have to say about 1974’s hit disaster movie about a skyscraper catching fire on the very night of its big dedication ceremony?

“I dunno. Prison?”
So, as not to spoil the show, I’ll just say that I touch on women’s lib and the depiction of women in film, especially back in those days. I also talked about how the fire happened and I speculated on the consequences.
Oh! And there was the fact that the Architect (Paul Newman) and the Fiance (Fay Dunaway) had sex in the bedroom that is attached to his office in the tower. His secretary was sitting outside his office, while the two of them were going to the bone zone. And the secretary knew full well what was going on in there.
Ew!

Ghost Adventures Is A Great Gig
Think about it. All you gotta do is go to a creepy place with a creepy story, film in night vision while wandering around in the dark, add some creepy narration with some creepy music and you got yourself a ghost hunting show. Now, add to that a willingness to make shit up, such as being thrown by a black mass, off camera, of course, and you got yourself a hit show.

“Yeah, it was the sound of my bank account getting bigger.”
Gullible viewers eat that shit up. Especially when they already believe ghosts exist.
Spoiler: They don’t!
Well, at least there isn’t any good evidence to support the existence of such things.
That doesn’t stop Zak Bagans and his gang from stumbling in the dark through investigating “haunted” places and producing episodes of Ghost Adventures. 14 years with 21 seasons (how does that work?) and more than 250 shows and still they are no closer to proving ghosts exist than when they started. No real results, just a bunch of anomalies and a whole lot of “what was that’s” and they still rake in the money.
What a great gig.
I give a sure fire way viewers can tell these ghost hunting shows never find an actual ghost. Here’s a hint:
IF THEY HAD DISCOVERED AN ACTUAL GHOST, IT WOULD BE ON THE NEWS!
